04/15/15- Paula's Eating/Exercise Journal: Friday

by Paula (Clean Eating Expert) 16. April 2014 14:23

I did an experiment over the last couple of days with my exercise.  Two days ago I speed walked/ sprinted 3.4 miles achieving a total calorie burn of 240 calories (I mark this with a heart rate monitor).  Then I walked the distance today with a 25 lb weight vest on.  I thought the calorie burn would be more since…it’s heavy!  No.  The calorie burn today was 185 for the same distance, and of course, it took me longer with the weight vest.

So the conclusion for me was that I burned more calories, spending less time doing sprints than wearing a weight vest!  Interesting
