Today was my family's "Holiday Extravaganza." We started at about 9:30 and went until just about 3:30. My Grandpa does a neat tradition of going to see historical places decorated for Christmas around Cincinnati. It's nice because it brings the whole family together. First we met at my aunt's for donuts and coffee. Holidays are the worst so my recommendation is to keep some chewing gum in your mouth when you're around food. There were heaping mounds of homemade Buckeye's, fudge, danishes, and donuts. It was to die for! I kept myself in control - I got a Starbuck's Skinny Vanilla Latte right before we got there. Between my coffee and then later my gum I ensured that I did not graze the delicious looking breakfast/dessert tray!
We typically go to two places, stop for lunch, and later Graeter's. This year we went to the Harriet Beecher Stowe Musuem, the Khron Conservatory, Skyline, and ice cream. I was nervous because this is a lot of in and out of the car for my son (he all the sudden hates riding in the car seat) and it was very cold. LOL, he also hates wearing a coat, hat, mittens, etc. so everything has become a battle. Needless to say, it was a great time with my family but my son was a terror. He wants to crawl or pull himself up on everything which he really can't do at a musuem or the Khron. He definitely wore his parents out!
